Cannot get the new main view to show any records

base table is order_header
entityfieldname is order_headerid
detailsview has a viewname to a form which has a base table order_header
added a child to the sales toolbar which does an action of mainview and argument of my new main view

Cannot figure out why the main view does not bind to my table

How is the view launched? From the navbar, from a menu option, through code?

If through code, please provide it.
