Getting Contact Process Information
Posted: 03 Aug 07 6:40 PM
When using a script (legacy or VBS) as a task of a contact process, is there any way I can determine the processid of the process when the script runs? For example, if I needed to know the value of the STARTERID column in the PROCESS table when I run the script task, how could I get the value?
Thanks for any help.

One of the biggest problems with Contact Processes is that they are blind to where they are.
You have to reverse engineer the processid.
The gist of it is you take a look in the process table for the process that was last executed for the current user and that should be the process that you are in now.
I've pasted in an old, old legacy script that was gathering dust.
You can adapt it to active...

' Description: Determines the CurrentProcessId
'

Dim sProcessId as string
Dim sSQL as string
Dim hnd as long
sSQL = "Select ProcessId From Process Where "
sSQL = sSQL & "(USERID = '" & CurrentUserId & "')"
sSQL = sSQL & "And (TARGETID = '" & CurrentContactId & "')"
sSQL = sSQL & " And LastAction = (Select Max(LastAction) from Process
where "
sSQL = sSQL & "(USERID = '" & CurrentUserId & "')"
sSQL = sSQL & "AND (TARGETID = '" & CurrentContactId & "'))"
hnd = DBOpenSQL(sSQL, True)
sProcessId = DBGetValue(hnd, "ProcessId")
DBClose hnd
GlobalInfoSet "CurrentProcessId", sProcessId
InvokeSetResult sProcessId
End Sub
