I have a user running numbers in Excel using the XNPV function. We would like to replicate his calculations within SLX, but even with the formula for this function in hand, I can't begin to recreate it and Google is as lost as I am.
Anyone built this function before and is willing to share with the group?

Actually.. you can invoke excel as a hidden com object and use it as a calculation engine to do the job.

However, I would NOT do this on "record change" events but on a button since it could present a loading/timeing issue"

I once implemented NPV for calculating effective current profit for long term leases.
I did this in Cypress basic (SLX v4.x/v5.x).
Sorry I no longer have that code. I seem to recall that I pulled out an old college finance book for the algorythm. I don't recall if I solved the problem using reciursion or if I used an iterative approach.
