Grid: MultiSelect: how do you reference a specific Column?
Posted: 29 Jan 09 8:13 AM
I know how to get the ID of the selected grid rowS.....
but how do you get the value for column 3 or the "A4_PRODUCTID" field?
Thanks!

I don't think that would identify the specific row of the multiselect.....the selected grid rows are in a 'Selection' object/collection:
Here's how I get the value today:
For i = 0 to nSelected -1
OWSID = "" & dgokSites.Selection.Item(i)
gAccountID = "" & GetFieldValueFromRS(pRS, "ACCOUNTID", "OPP_WORKSHEETID", OWSID)
OppNumber = cINT("0" & GetFieldValueFromRS(pRS, "A5_OPP_NUMBER", "OPP_WORKSHEETID", OWSID))
''''''
FUNCTION GetFieldValueFromRS(objRS, ReturnField, IDFIELD, RowID) '''quick little function adapted from SLX Utils/Common/Sales Process.
GetFieldValueFromRS = ""
With objRS
If Not (.BOF And .EOF) Then
.MoveFirst
For i = 0 To .RecordCount - 1
If .Fields.Item(IDField).Value = RowID Then
GetFieldValueFromRS = "" & .Fields.Item(ReturnField).Value
'Found record exit loop and return RS
Exit For
End If
.MoveNext
Next
End If
End With
END FUNCTION
'''''
So I was thinking.....
For i = 0 to nSelected -1
OWSID = "" & dgokSites.Selection.Item(i)
FIELDA = "" & dgokSites.Selection.Item(i).FIELDA
or FIELDB = "" & dgokSites.Selection.Item(i)."FIELDB"
or something like that......
it depends on what is in the Selection object/collection?
