SalesLogix integration for screen-pop

Hello,
I have just been assigned to a customer who uses SalesLogix in their call center and wanted to check with you prior to doing any development. I have never worked with SalesLogix in the past so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Basically the app that I am looking to write takes some collected info or ANI (caller ID) from a CTI client application (Contact Center Express) and enters this into a particular field.
I have not yet downloaded the SLXAPI but I would imagine it would be quite helpful to allow me pass this info to a particular field in the customer look-up page... Yet am just curious if you would have any recommendations in terms of how to go about this. Generally if we have a CRM with no API to program against we will create an app that will send-keys to the appropriate field and do the look-up. Yet I think this API would be the easier route to take...
Any input on this? Also is there an easy way to create a new window within Saleslogix when an event occurs. So for instance if an agent is in a customer's page and a call comes in, is there a call that will automatically create a new window and then populate the incoming data to the appropriate field?
Thanks for any pointers you can provide! -Dan |

Save yourself the heartache - you will not be able to do this on your own (call handling is a pretty big area - inbound, screen popping, call routing, on-hold/off-hold etc are all events you'd need to handle) - go to http://www.qgate.co.uk and see if their application fits your needs. For what it costs - it'd be a no-brainer I'm sure !
