Refreshing a browser control
Posted: 15 Mar 10 4:51 PM
I'm using SLX 7.2 and notice that on occasion, my browser controls come up blank unless I refresh the form or switch to another record. I thought of working around this by forcing the browser to refresh, but there doesn't seem to be a method to do that, and doing a form refresh seems like overkill.
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you setting the URL value of the Browser control or the HTML Code?
I have ran into situations where you had to set the HTML code twice to avoid this issue (seems like a timing issue):
e.g.
ctr.HTML = strHTML 'First Time
ctr.HTML = strHTML 'Second Time
As is, it is always possible that the Browser control is locked waiting for Input, thus the fact that it is blank.
Even if you are setting the URL of the Control, you could always for it back (and that would force a refresh). Add a button and call it "Refresh" and on the Event handler of the Button either reset the URL or the HTML property as needed. This gives the user the ability to "refresh" on demand.

Setting the HTML twice seemed to take care of it. Thanks, Raul!
