If someone types "Joe" into a name edit control's text box, the control's popup window appears with "Joe" in the last name field. Our users would like if single names went to the first name field instead.

Is there any way to change name edit controls so a single name entry goes into the popup's first name field, instead of the last name field? Or do you always have to use the popup window or a script for that?

Right now I'm using the OnExitControl event to run a script that checks if the entered name has spaces. If not, it goes something like,

NameEdit1.NameFirst = NameEdit1.Text
NameEdit1.NameLast = ""
NameEdit1.Popup

Well you can always go to five fields Prefix picklist, First, Middle, Last, Suffix picklist....set the tab stop for the first name....and let them go at it.

SLX has built in logic to determine/parse out the names et al.....so doing something like changing the databound FirstName property to a different field is not a good idea......

simple answer: no.
