Changing columns in "Lookup Results"

fiogf49gjkf0d In any mainview I can create or edit the columns included in a group except for the Lookup Results list. So Lookup Results isn't a normal group... how do I change it?
Thanks |

fiogf49gjkf0d That is correct - its not a normal group - but there is a way to change it.
You modify the account, contact and opportunity lookup results columns from the Architect. Select 'Lookups...' from the 'Manage' menu. This will bring up the Lookup Manager. The Lookup Results columns area based on the field you are searching. For the Quick Finds these would be
Main Table - Field Account -Account Contact - Lastname Opportunity - Description
For instance, if you wanted to change the columns shown in Lookup Results when a contact Quick Find is done. In the Lookup Manager select 'Contact' as the Main Table then highlight 'Lastname' in the listing. Click the 'Edit' button to bring up the 'Edit Lookup' window. Click the 'Layout' button. The Query Builder will appear. At the bottom is the 'Layout' tab. This defines the columns shown in Lookup Results when List View is selected. Modify the columns as is required, click the 'OK' button twice to return to the Lookup Manager. If you are done click the 'Close' botton, otherwise select the next table and field you want to modify the Lookup Results columns.

fiogf49gjkf0d We learned through trial and error that the lookup results layout and columns are determined by “The Latest” groups. So the lookup results for the Accounts is controlled by “The Latest Accounts” group. I am sure there is a more technical answer that one of the regular answer guys can give, I was just excited that I new an answer.
