On an Account form I need to require the user enter data in field1 depending on the contents of field2. I have tried using the OnExit event from the control and the AXFormChange event but they do not seem to fire when I expect them to.

Is there an event that fires before the form changes.

I am pretty new to SalesLogix, I do however have quite a bit of experiece in VB6 and .NET and SQL Server.

I am not sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish but if you want to check things when the user saves the form try the "AXFormValidate" event.
