Provider Help
Posted: 21 Aug 07 11:08 AM
Im in the process of developing a web app that will use the SalesLogix tables.
The server that the web app will run on does not have SalesLogix installed and because of this I dont have the SLXNetwork.1 provider installed on the server.
1. Can I install just the provider on the server? If so where do i find the provider and how do I install it?
2. Is there a way to have the connection string use the provider on a different server?
3. Do I have any options?

Yes , you can install the provider alone.Browse your slx cd1 and you will get the setup.
Also what version of slx are you using ? provider has changed from slxnetwork.1 to slxoledb.1 from 61 to version 6.2
Create a windows udl and open that udl in notepad to see the actual connection string and that is what you should be using in your webapps.
Yes , create the udl and point to another slx server and you are good to go.
