I am writing a fairly large query with complex calculations that one of the company's reports need. For this particular scenario, I was thinking of using a stored procedure that my CR can consume using the SalesLogix provider. I am however, running into an issue:

-- CR cannot properly retrieve the SP's data using the SLXOLEDB provider. On the other hand, I can execute the query "exec " using the Administrator and it properly retrieves the number of rows. My stored procedure contains a table variable.
I've also tried using a temp table instead of a table variable in the SP, but the CR isn't returning any records.
We don't have remote users, so using a stored procedure doesn't sound like a bad option for reporting.

I've also tried just doing a simple query inside my stored procedure to test and see if it was the provider giving me issues -- that seems to work... but once I use either a temp table or a table variable, the report stops working.

Any suggestions?

Jo

Don't use the SLX OLE DB Provider.

Use a SQL Server Native connection instead.

Hey RJ

Thanks for the reply. I tried using the SQL Server Native client, but the users will need to run the report from within the SalesLogix app. Crystal Report works seamlessly with the stored procedure using the library, but running the report using the client fails.
