Here is an email from a Sage Customer Support Analyst from June 2nd...yesterday.
""It seems that the customer is using Scribe which is an Import tool. However with SP1 for 7.5 of SalesLogix we removed the 2000 SQL OLEDB provider which is required in order for Scribe to perform.
The 2000 SQL OLEDB provider was removed because of incompatibility with SalesLogix 7.5.X and there are currently no plans to re-add it.""
Any idea why Sage would be saying this? The issue I am experiencing is that the OLE DB provider is no longer available in the Saleslogix Connection Manager.

Ah right, I see. We're talking cross purposes. You are talking about the SQL OLEDB Provider (the part that SLX uses to talk to SQL Server) - **not** the SLX OLEDB Provider.
There are 3 ways of connecting to SQL using OLEDB - SQLOLEDB.1 (for SQL 2000 and prior). SQLNCLI.1 (for SQL2005) and SQLNCLI10.1 (for SQL2008). The part that was dropped was the ability for SLX to use the {old} Microsoft SQL OLDB Provider (SQLOLEDB) - and to now only use the Native Client provider for SQL Server (SQLNCLI.1 and SQLNCLI10.1 listed above) and *NOT* the SalesLogix provider.
