SalesLogixProvider cannot work on 64-bits server 2008 R2?

Hi, I have a new server with windows server 2008 R2, and my website will connect the SLX with the SLX Provider. The SLX server is on a different machine and my website works fine before.
But now on the new 64-bits server, when the website try to connect SLX server, there is an error:"No error message available, result code: E_FAIL(0x80004005). "
I installed the Client OLE DB Provider successfully on the server 2008 R2, and Enabled the 32-bits application on the App Pool.
And in the same website, I use the OLEDB Connection to get data from Excel successfully.
So I think I need to do something for the SLXOLEDB.1 provider.
Does anybody know how to do with SLXOLEDB.1 provider? Thanks
ps, I'm using SalesLogix 7.5. |

Does anyone have the same environment with me? I think there must have. If you do not have this error, can you tell me is there any other support files need to be installed?
I only installed the Client SalesLogix OLE DB Provider.

Hi Nancy
I've had the same kind of problem with the same error message.
In ISS 7.5 I have change the identity settings in the application pool under Advanced Setting from the Built-in account: "Networkservice" to a Custom account with administration rights(like a admin user of the server). This solved my problem
But in time you need to find which rights is necessary for connecting to the SLX Provider.
Hope it helps,

fiogf49gjkf0d I am receiving the same error on a website running on Windows 2008 Server R2 and trying to use the SLXOLEDB. I've done what was mentioned above including setting the identity to an admin user for the application pool. I still get the E_FAIL(0x80004005) error. Is there an update to this topic? I assume others are having to run on Windows 2008 Server R2. It is a 64 bit server if that matters. |
