Hi all,

Did somebody turned on the "auto increment" feature in a running productive environment? (Account, Contact, Opportunity, History)
We are running SLX 7.5.3 with LAN Clients over 5 Remote Offices.

I would really like to use this feature as much as possible, but I'm scared turn it on in a running productive environment.
Can it get in conflict with the existing code using the "GetIDFor" methode? Or if an import is using the stored procedure to generate IDs?

Did somebody ever made this change in a running environment?

Many thanks for your help,
Marcel

yes I did......and suffered the consequences.....

I turned on AutoIncrement for every TableName + ID = FieldName field and 6+ tables that don't match that criteria.....so far so good.

VirtualFileSystem table  VirtualFileSystemID field Autoincrement = 'T' will KILL the web client......it's a known BAD FAD Defect....

Hi RJ

Thanks for your reply... looks like I can turn on the auto-increment for all tables (except VirtualFileSystem table) Fortunatelly, we do not have the web client running at all.

I guess I will give it a try sooner or later hoping not to messup sync or ID generation on my system .... Damn, I'm such a coward Tongue out

Cheers
