Hello Guys!

I have installed saleslogix remote on a client notebook... Its a big company, so have a lot of policies in the network.... But my problem is...i install saleslogix, but when the user restart windows, saleslogix dont works anymore... i enter in the datalink properties and the database field dont show any database name... This only works when i reinstall the SalesLogix OLE DB Provider, but when i restart windows, the problems continues... I have tryied give permissions in the sql and salesloix folders but dont work... And if is something with permissions, i have no arguments to point what is the problem to tell to the company...I dont know where to look...

anyone knows something that i can look for?

Do you know for sure if this machine is doing a full shutdown, or just going into Sleep mode?

Many times, coming out of Sleep Mode may cause trouble with the SLX System Service, and when that happens, the quick fix is to restart the Service.

Hi Raul!! Its restart.... i have tested many times and i dont know why this happens....after restart the pc loses the datalink..and i have to install Saleslogix OLE DB Provider again...and works..but when restart.. the problema occurrs again..

Are you sure you have rights to write to the registry and keep it?

Or write DLLS? 

Or can DLLS only be written to particular areas ont he machine? (Think: protected areas)

Sometimes the Group Policies in larger companies allow you One day access and then remove everything you did either overnight or on Restart.  I would check in with your System Administrators on this one.  You obviously did the right things or you never would have had SLX connectivity to begin with, right? 

The question is why did it disappear?

Yes, my question is why when the user restart windows, the datalink stops and the slx dont connect... And how can get some info about what is goingo on, to tell the client that the problem is in his network, not on sales logix...

might also look at roaming profiles too...

We installed software to a server but the profile was redirected to a remote server.

Then rebooted and needless to say the slx services failed ... no local registry. 

But I'd go with Carla and look for the registry security first, then profiles including the all users areas

try doing an install

then c:\dir *.* /s /oen > mapdrive.txt

reboot and repeat

a quick file compare might identify missing files if its profile related
