Hello,

Eloqua does SalesLogix integration work on behalf of our clients. We have a prospect in the funnel that has mentioned that they use "Leads" in SalesLogix, and are doing so as a result of a recent upgrade. I have not been able to find any information on SalesLogix Leads, so I thought I would pose the question here.

Is there a version of SalesLogix out there with a "LEAD" table? If so, would it behave similarly to the "CONTACT" table (i.e. you can insert and update records, LEADID would be the primary key, etc.)

If the LEAD record exists, can you also attach ACTIVITY or HISTORY records to it? Would there be a LEADID on the HISTORY and ACTIVITY tables like there is already a CONTACTID and ACCOUNTID.

I appreciate any help on this one.

Thank you,
Scott

Version 7 had Leads in it. Its a great new feature which allows you to segragate imported lists from your normal account and contact groups. Once the lead has been qualified you convert them into an account and contact - the process even looks for dupes.

The Leads functionality was included with the Marketing bundle that accompanied Service Pack 3 for SalesLogix 6.2.
This functionality is as well included on version 7

One of the Limitations I remember was related to Activity and History items. On version 7 if I am not mistaken you can associate History to a Lead, but not an Activity.

Insert Activity or History (note) is not supported w/Leads in 6.2.x or v7.0, You would have to build a custom from scratch to do it. Also, Leads is not the same as contacts (close.. but not the same) and has it's own Address records. If you look at the leads import code (part of Slx) you will see how to create Leads records properly.

I'd suggest you:
A - Have someone who understands teh Slx Schema and knows v6.2.x/v7 (every partner is supposed to have a "qualified"/certified v7 person on staff by now or they are in violation of their partner agreement)
B - contract w/someone who knows (and is "qualified") what is going on (in leads)
