When SalesLogix is initially installed, what are the default values for DataSource and InitialCatalog? Is there a procedure that can get these values for any computer that is used?
Just let me know if more details are needed.
Thanks in advance! Lou |

fiogf49gjkf0d Thanks for the speedy reply, Ryan!
I had already reviewed that same document. Getting these values is no problem on the local network. I need to know how to get these values when they are unknown.
Thanks! |

fiogf49gjkf0d No. Like I said, there could possibly be several SLX servers on a network. Which one should it give you? Any of those SLX servers may or may not have an eval, and the database might not even be named eval.
What exactly are you after? What's the scenario of what you're trying to accomplish? Maybe there is some other route I could offer you. |

fiogf49gjkf0d I thought there may be a default location when SalesLogix is installed. I used EVAL as an example. It makes sense, though that there could be several different servers and aliases. The link you gave me to the documentation for building a login screen was VERY helpful. It identified the stored procedures for listing the available servers and aliases.
Thanks! |
