Is it possible to programmatically create a remote user database?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can through SQL.

If you go to the Create Database options and select 'Create DTS package and save it (do not run) ' this extracts the raw SQL required to C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\RemoteDB_DTS.sql which can be used to create the remote database outsideSLX

I hope this helps.

Doing what Adam suggested does indeed create a Database, but does it finalize it?

When you create a Remote Database, after it has been created, SalesLogix goes in and updates the Site Code and/or Key Base on the Remote Database as well as on the Host DB.

In my experience, using the DTS package doesn't properly update the Site Code and/or Key Base, rendering the new Remote Database somewhat useless.

Give it a try and let us know if this is no longer the case and using the RemoteDB_DTS.sql is now a good alternate way to generate the Remote DBs.

Thanks for your answers. My goal isn't to create a raw database but a database with data already loaded otherwise the synchronisation will take ages.

I dont know if Im missing something here.. But the remote database should already have the data loaded on it.

Sorry I thought you were talking about generate a database creation script. I don't understand how to create the DTS package. Is it a backup DTS? I usually use DTS to import or export data.

This automatically occurs.....setup Subscription Rules for each remote user.....cycle the synch server.....start cutting databases....
