I have a custom table with association type as None.
I want to set Field-Level Security for this table but the checkbox is not active.
Also it is a parent table..
what should be done in order to achieve Field-Level Security?
I m using v.7.0

Once you have created the table, you cannot change the Enable Field-Level Security option. You will have to re-create the table and any other 1:1 tables underneath it in order to enable this feature. It does not work on 1:M tables.

Thank you, LaNae

Yeah you are right, figured this out Lanae. Thanks

But according to my requirement its Association should be 'None'
Also there is no such field in the table by which I an make it a child table.
If any other way to achieve will be very helpful.
Thanks

Absolutly correct.. The Slx DB manager will not let you enable FLS on a non-associated table.

You could "cheat" (but NO guarentees it would work or that SLX tech/sdk support would help you) by creating an "associated" 1:1 table and then kill the global join.... Depending on which table you pick as the "master" you will get differing results.

What you have hit on is the basic way tables/security is setup in SLX. There's "hard-code" in the provider and the Slx Apps that you just cannot change...

hmm..Im getting what you mean to say Bob...it is already hard coded in the provider.
so I will have to make a different approach to achieve FLS.
Thanks Bob for the reply.
