.NET >>> SLX PrimerYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi, I'm new to SLX but have been developing in .NET for 6 years. I have a client who wants me to run ecommerce transactions through SLX using an ASP.NET frontend/middle tier. I've had a hard time finding decent documentation for this process. I look forward to contributing to the community here in a positive way once I get past this first learning curve.

So my question is this:
Can anyone direct me to a primer, tutorial, or even some nice clean documentation that can help me accomplish my task?

Time is of the essence unfortunately so if you think of something that might help please respond at your earliest convenience.

It depends on what version of SalesLogix is being used. In version 7.5, the application architect has a fairly extensive documentation in the help screen on the clases and methods available as RESTFUL services. In earlier versions (like version 6), You pretty much can just build a standard ASMX or WCF service. If you look at the article on this site:

http://www.slxdeveloper.com/page.aspx?action=viewarticle&articleid=87 you can see how to connect to a saleslogix application using the saleslogix dataprovider. You will need to make your connections through the data provider in order to generate table id's as well as to ensure that changes made in the database through the web service are synched out to any remote clients that the installation has.

Hope that helps

This is very helpful. Thank you!

Is there documentation for the RESTFUL services anywhere? I'd love to get a peek at those before this project starts
