I've used reflector with Sage.Platform.Application.UI.Web.dll as a test to see if i can recompile the dll with [Serialization] on WebUIWorkItem and try to use the "StateServer" on IIS.

The problem is that the code is generating the following:

    private readonly ConfigurationManager _configBootstrapper = new ConfigurationManager(() => new Type[] { typeof(WebApplicationConfiguration), typeof(WebModuleConfiguration) });

    // Methods
    [CompilerGenerated]
    private static Type[] <.ctor>b__0()
    {
        return new Type[] { typeof(WebApplicationConfiguration), typeof(WebModuleConfiguration) };
    }

I cannot compile the dll because of these.  Do anybody know how to correct this?

AFAIK the items with the CompilerGenerated attribute is just cruft added by the compiler to support things like generics. Have you tried omitting that part to see if it will compile without it?

I did it, and it compiled, but then throw errors when using that specific class.

Never understood why they coded the portal for "inproc" mode, users get mad if you have to recycle the worker process.

Ok, i can compile it now.  Was compiling it with Visual Studio 2k5, switched to 2010 and now it compiles.

The part it dont liked on 2k5 was:

() => new Type[] { typeof(WebApplicationConfiguration), typeof(WebModuleConfiguration) }

Ok, still saying cannot serialize the class WebUIWorkItem, and i guess will have a lot of problems if i continue trying to change the "inproc" mode to "stateserver".  Well, guess it just was not designed for it.

Sad. Inproc is the worst mode of opperation on iis.
