fiogf49gjkf0d Just wondering if anyone is using or planning to use this product. All of our users are web-based, so we don't currently have calendars sync with their Outloook. Exchange Link will transfer SLX Activities to their Exchange, and their Exchange appointments to their SLX Activities calendar.
Looks slick, but can't find many customers using it, and fewer non-Sage technical people who know about it or support it. Please contact me through this forum or at kerry.shannon@eds.com with any history or references. |

fiogf49gjkf0d I've not used it myself, but I do plan to eventually. I do know if another SLX business partner that was very involed in the beta testing and uses it in house. He always seemed to have very good things to say about it.
Sorry I can't provide more help than that. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi Kerry,
We're using it in-house and have a couple of customers running it with more to follow. Our experince so far is very good. Its a massive improvement on the old client-side offering, Once you've done the initial set-up, thats it's, we've been running it for about 8 months with no problems. And as it server-side it works perfectly with the web client

fiogf49gjkf0d Thanks to all who provided information, especially Mike. We tested the beta in our model office. The initial set up was easy. The security folks want to tighten things down as much as possible, so that may be interesting. And it seems like we will have weekly maintenance of new users to do, so the thought of someone knowing an account password with full Exchange admin rights is raising questions. I will post again, at least after final testing and implementation. |

lexapro weed lexapro and weed effects fiogf49gjkf0d The real problem with Exchange Link is now Sage says to not use it for remote users. Most of our customers are a combination of remote and network, so you have to resort to the Adv Outlook Integration for remotes. Also, if you do not set it up on the Exchange Server, you have to try your best to find the Outlook XP SP3 MAPI32.DLL, and this can be a challenge in itself. |

fiogf49gjkf0d All of our users are network, so we do not have the remote issue.
Recently, Sage updated the documentation to indicate you can install Exchange Admin Console, instead of Outlook 2002 SP3, and use its APIs. We plan on doing that when we install EL on the SLX Server. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Yes, you can install the Exchange Administrator on the server with SLX Exchange Link on it, which is what we did for one customer who could not get Outlook XP SP3. But, another customer frowned on this idea, since the Exchange Admin tool should not be on that server for any other reason.
Note the Known Issues as well. This product is still not Nirvana. Not bad for network users, but still has some critical issues that are preventing some of our customers from deploying fully. |
