I have a computer that refuses to run the web client. It is not user/logon related. You can login and as the contact view it builds the entire page except for the grid list and then a popup "The parameter is incorrect". Anyone seen this one. It appears all cabs installed. The box is XP Pro SP2 with IE6. Not popup blockers/firewalls issues I can find.

Hi David,
Can you let us know what version?
By its "not user/logon related" does that mean you've login as that slx user on another machine at its fine?

Thanks

I always forget the important little details.
6.2.2 and I can login as any user on the computer or web client and it does not work. I can login as any of the users into any other machine/web client and it works. Something with this XP box the web client does not like.
To make things more painful it is a remote box and I no longer have someone savy onsite so support is HARD!
We just acquired this company and their infrastructure is in serious need of help. I will eventually make them remotes and import there ACT accounts into our SLX but much has to be done first so I was trying to get a head start by getting their 3 salespersons into the web client. "Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad" as old Jack says!

Ok if that the case it sounds like there’s a problem with Group Manager ActiveX control.
Firstly I would check the IE settings are correct and the user is in the power users or administrators group for that machine
Then I would un-register the groupmanager.dll file in the windows\system32 folder.
If you then log back into the web client it will then download the ActiveX control.

Hopefully that should sort it!

P.S. When you get the chance I would upgrade your system to 6.2.3+ as there are major performance benefits in the web client.

Making sure they were admins was the first thing I did along with al the IE stuff. Just tried the groupmanager. Still no go. I just found out they could never get several other apps to run on this box. I am just going to have it reloaded! spent way to much time whacking it with the hammer!. Time to nuke it!

Thanks for the suggestions. The ActiveX control reload was a good guess. Been maning to do SP4 for a while. Just have not had the time.

Sounds like nuking it is the best option!
