New web user, set up like other web users, cannot sign in.

Gets "We apologize for the inconvenience, but we cannot complete your request for the following reason(s): An invalid username and/or password was entered. "

Changed passwords, flushed web, etc. No solution.

SLX suggests restarting IIS when adding a new user. Really? Any suggestions?

I don't hardly ever work with web, so there may be some better way, but to reset IIS just bring up a command prompt and type "iisreset". I am sure that it would recognize the user after that.

Hi Kerry,

When you add a user with a password you need to run the "Shutdown" command
i.e log in to Admin then in another IE window go to http://mysite/scripts/slxweb.dll/admin?command=shutdown

Shutdown is used for changes to users and picklists and the flush command is used for changes to the screens.

OK, getting farther. We just upgraded from 6.1.3 to 6.2.4 web.

Found the error in the app event log finally after the shutdown.

The time zone information is invalid.

I know it set the time zones during the upgrade. I have not found the screen to set user time zones in Administrator. Where do I set time zone for new web users?

Kerry, did you check the server whether that is running on the correct tz?I've had some issues when the time/tz were incorrect on the server.

Also i think some of the components were re-written in .net after 6.2 sp3.So you might wanna enable asp.net also on your server and make sure the correct version of the framework is associated with this application.

The server has the time zone.

We started over, deleting the user, flushing, new user record, flushing, same error at log in on the web. The userinfo record does not have the time zone set. I noticed in the SLX KB about an error in the thick client if the user's TZ on their PC is not set. I wonder if this is an issue where the security admin's TZ is not set when they create the user record.

There should be a maintenance screen where you can change user TZs. What if you have multiple offices and a user moves?

I believe the TZ information may only be used during the upgrade. For interactive use the SalesLogix components query the system or local PC for the TZ information.

The web server time zone is set. My PC time zone is set. I can sign in with my own id and with admin. Both work. I cannot sign in with this one on my PC.

I went back and checked that other new user ids set up since we upgraded the web 7 weeks ago work.

I'm stumped.

Yes. Frustrating. I opened a call with SLX. No solution so far other than iisreset.
