Web client picklists

fiogf49gjkf0d About to wrestle with cascasding picklists, but I have another query first..
I noticed most, but not all, the picklists on my add contact/account template (conadd2) are coming up populated with the first value in the picklists. I had gone through and set options=R on most of them, but even when I remove this options it is still happening..
any thoughts? Thanks |

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi Steve,
This is to do with a bad bit of inconsistency between the Web Client and the Full Client. Basically the picklist that are selecting the first value have picklist set to be required in the picklist manager, this works great in the full client, but in the web client, it just picks the first value. If you are using a mixed approached it’s always better to switch these off and do the validation on the form view. -- Duncan |

fiogf49gjkf0d If memory serves me correctly, the way around this is an entry in the picklist of "\".

fiogf49gjkf0d You only get the "\" if you set picklist required to false and adding it using Javascript is a bit cumbersome. |
