Is there any documentation regarding setting up the web client to allow access from outside a firewall? Any input would be welcome. Thanks

Steve,

The 6.2 Web Implementation guide has a small section "Using Firewalls" in the "Advanced Web Host Configuration" chapter that has some information on it. It's page 69 in my copy of the web imp. guide.

Basically, put your web server in the DMZ. You'll need to open the port for the OLEDB provider (default is 1706) on the inside of the firewall so the OLEDB provider can communicate with the SalesLogix server. You'll also need to open the SQL Server port (1433 by default) on the inside of the firewall. Each port the web site is running on must have be open on the outside of the firewall.

There are some other ports that must be opened, such as the web reporting port (if it's on it's on port) as well as some ports for the sync server, shared docs and library folders. I've never actually set those up because I haven't had to deal with remotes on a web implementation. Those are covered in the Imp. Guide.

Jeff
