Without warning, I'm suddenly unable to edit any of my templates or actions in Web Manager. I've closed and re-opened Web Manager, done an 'iisreset' to stop and start the web server, and nothing helps. Does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it?

Unfortunately, nothing happens other than not being able to edit the template. I can double-click and open the template, but once I get in, no keystrokes are actually registering. I don't get an error message or anything, but it's like trying to edit a PDF document...! I'm remoting in to the server on which the SalesLogix site and database are hosted.

Ok if the web manager is on the same machine as the webhost?
I'm guessing you are using the crappy default editor that comes with SLX.
Firstly make sure the package which is associated with the template is active.
Then when you open a template if you can’t edit it closes it down and open it again.

If that doesn't work you can use an external editor i.e. notepad or uedit.
On your server open up folder options via control panel, and then in file types find the one for HTM and click advanced
Then double click on EDIT, you can then point to the exe for your favourite text editor.
Once you've done this close down the web manager login again and now before click on your template, make sure External Editor is checked
This should then open in your chosen editor

Duncan, that's it! I had to pull down the "File" menu, select the "Package" option, and then choose my package. I'm not sure how it ever got unselected, but now that it's the active package, I'm able to edit all my templates again! I did everything else I could think of to get past this problem, but somehow missed this configuration option.

Thank you so much for the help!

No Worries.
The Web Manager doesn't remember any of your settings, so each time you login you need to select the package you want to edit.
