I'm brand new to SLX and really don't know anything about it except what i've found on this forum. It seems like SLX isn't "web friendly" in that there is no traditional API to upload a lead or anything of that nature. I'm not a hardcore programmer -- i'm really front-end focused (php, javascript) and am used to the more friendly types of integrations such as SalesForce, Amazon etc...

Anyway, all I need to do is get a lead into SLX from a form on my client's site. It's php (LAMP). Can this be done? What do i need to learn, where do i start? I don't even know how to quote this project out to the client since i can't get a feel for what's involved. Thanks in advance for any tips or info you can give me!

Hi Jack,

I did that szenario a lot of times.

There are two ways to realize that:

1. If your database server is public on the internet (I hope it isn't), you are able to add the leads directly into SLX with PHP.
2. If you have an IIS in your network (e.g DMZ) which is connected to the internet and could be connected to the SLX server, you could create an asp.net file, which will feed SLX with the data from your PHP web form.

The second szenario is easier and more secure to realize and I did that a lot of time for companies in Germany, South Africa and Australia on SLX Version 6.2 and 7.2.

Would you mind to tell me the link of the PHP webform, the version of SalesLogix and if you would like to save the leads from your webform in LEADS or CONTACT table, please?

Feel free to contact me via email (support@opencrms.de) for details.

Cheers,
Thomas
