Problems using SLX 7.5 OLE DB Provider in IIS7.0

Hi,
I have an ASP.NET web service which is using the SalesLogix 7.5 OLE DB Provider. When I host the web service in IIS 7.0 on Vista or Window 2008, both of these are the 32bit versions. The code to connect to the saleslogix database causes the ASP.NET service to crash. I am receiving the following in the windows event log:
Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919413, faulting module oledb32.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a751, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000a5d1, process id 0xe28, application start time 0x01c940c242038e09.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or know of a solution for this?
Cheers, Darren |

It's clearly posted in the SalesLogix Compatability docs that IIS7 is not supported.. won't work. You have to use IIS6 compatability mode.
AFAIK there's no date/release of support for IIS 7 by SalesLogix on teh short term road map..
Talk to your BP about this. |

Darren,
How are you connecting to the Database through your web service. If you run your service in VS under the debugger and try to access your functionality do you get any exceptions. As RJ stated native IIS 7.0 is not supported in the web components of SalesLogix however It seems to me that you are creating a custom web service and I do believe that this is completely possible. I would be first inclined to look at the underlying code to your service and see if there are any errors that might be causing it to fall down before we assume it is a problem with SalesLogix Service, or the OleDbProvider.
