WebService Consumer LAN SLX 7.2 /.NET 2.0Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I was following Timmus' example to call a Web Service from LAN Client, I tried 'Hello World' in LAN 7.2 and .NET 2.0 and it works fine if both my WS and SLX Client are on the same machine, local. Once I deploy the WS to a test server it is not working anymore. I get following Error for oXMLHTTP

call oXMLHTTP.open("POST", "http://pmt-test1:8006/PDFConverter/Service1.asmx/HelloWorld", false)
call oXMLHTTP.open("POST", "http://localhost:3077/Service1.asmx/HelloWorld", false)

Status: 500
ResponseText: ...Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/HelloWorld

Couple of more differences:

1)
http://localhost:8006/PDFConverter/Service1.asmx?op=HelloWorld
VS
http://pmt-test1:8006/PDFConverter/Service1.asmx?op=HelloWorld

They look different. The localhost one exposes HTTP POST protocol, the pmt-test1 does not. ...so I think I did not deploy correctly the WS on the test server?

2)
http://localhost:3077/Service1.asmx/HelloWorld - returns the correct xml file
http://pmt-test1:8006/PDFConverter/Service1.asmx/HelloWorld - InvalidOperationException: Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/HelloWorld'.]

Any help please?

I am calling my WS different way and it is working

dim c
set c = CreateObject("MSSOAP.SOAPClient30")
c.mssoapinit("http://pmt-s-logix:8006/PDFConverter/SvcContracts.asmx?WSDL")

c.ConnectorProperty("AuthUser") = "user"
c.ConnectorProperty("AuthPassword") = "pwd"

dim XMLNode
if Err = 0 then
set XMLNode = c.ProcessBatch(arrBatch, strUserID, intCount, strDBName)
else
'raise error
end if

...then parse the XML doc
