Hi all,

I have to call a webservice which creates the site in sharepoint if i passes the slxaccountid and slxaccountname as parameters after a button click in saleslogix 7.5 web.

But the thing is i am not getting how to call it actually. What i have tried is i have a created a class library and created a method called createspsite in that class by adding web services reference to that class.

But when ever i am calling that method i am getting the following error (in fact i have adopted this method from video called how to reference a external dll from slx)

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'SPSAdminWebServiceSLX.SPSAdminWebServiceSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.

Please kindly suggest how to call a webservice from slx 7.5 web on a button click

Help needed urgently

If you try consuming the DLL from some other app (take SLX out of the picture), like call it from a test windows app. Does it work?

To me it sounds like a problem with something you've done in the DLL, I'd take SLX out of this and just test/debug what the code in your DLL that calls the webservice is doing.

yes actually it is working in windows application. But my doubt is how to call a web service in c# code snippet of the button click event in the web form in slx 7.5 web?

To call a web service from SLX, you need to wrap the call in an external DLL and then use that DLL in SLX. You can do this in one of two ways:

1) Directly wire your DLL to the rule. So, instead of choosing C#/VB snippet, you'd select external DLL. Make the signature of your method in the DLL match the rule signature (as shown in AA).

or

2) Consume your custom DLL from your C# snippet. Honestly the first route is easier, but to do this, you'll add your DLL into the Bin in Support Files, then in the code snippet add a reference to the DLL in the RefenceAssemblies in the properties editor when your code snippet is open.

Does that make sense?
