I'd also suggest looking through the customizations SalesLogix has already done. You may not be able to find something exactly like you need, but you can use a lot of what they do as an example. While I've yet to actually use the web dev tools, if it's anything like the customizations for Architect, SalesLogix will have a good bit of code you can reuse just to get the basics down. |

fiogf49gjkf0d James,
From what you have said, your problem is not really how to develop HTML Templates, Actions, etc. But rather it is the general understanding of how the web client hangs together, i.e. Queries, Overrides, Packages, etc.
Rather than just looking at the Web Developers Reference, I would suggest looking at the Implementation and Planning documents. These explain a bit more about the fundamentals. Then go to the Dev guide for functions etc.
As one of the other posters mentioned, the best way of developing for the web client is to find something similar to what you need to do and see how it is done already.
Unfortunately, the documentation and help for developing the web client isn't exactly great. If after reading it, you are still having problems, I would suggest going on a training course for it.
Regards,
Martin |
