Is it possible to use the SalesLogix OLE-DB provider in SharePoint 2007? We are looking into the BI capabilities in Sharepoint and it seems that Microsoft does not allow for custom providers in SharePoint 2007.

If possible, are there any examples/docs on how to implement the provider in SharePoint 2007?

Thanks!

You could script/code up a connection.

There's no way to use the SLX provider directly in SharePoint. You'd have to build your own webparts using the provider that would do whatever specific things you'd need and add those into SharePoint.

An easy way to get started with building SharePoint webparts is to use the SmartParts library. This makes the webpart development a breeze. See http://www.smartpart.info/
