Is it possible to set up SLX 7.2 on a stand alone machine (ie not on a domain) for Demo purposes? Possible on XP pro?

Yes. Web LAN and Mobile can all be run on XP Pro with IIS installed or Cassini.
Or even just vs.net 2005 web developer server (instead of IIS).

But yes you dont need a domain or anything like that. I would suggest a VMware image instead of installing locally just because you can easily undo changes and have multiple for many different demos.
