Web navigation
Posted: 15 Oct 07 5:43 PM
It seems like the new web client has implemented a screen lay-out based on the entity only. I liked the old lay-out for the Customer Portal better...Speed Search was a icon on the side and was easy to hide. I could even add a new button linking to a external Product Information page based on the customer SubType.
Has anyone found a way to add a non-entity page link? I really need the functionally of linking to external Product Information page based on the customer SubType in 7.2, but I am getting no where.

Hi Jack.
When you add a nav item, menu, etc, the drop down does list the entity pages (and standard pages) in the current portal. However, you're not limited to only those. You can type in any other URL you'd like. You could also make a intermediate page that was part of the portal that could read whatever data you needed and then redirect to the appropriate URL as well. Does that make sense?

An intermediate page makes since, but in the customer portal the only entity we have is ticket. There should be a Customer Portal entity.
How would you insert the redirect code?
