On the Account detail screen, I want to be able to prevent a user from changing the account manager. I tried setting the AccManager control to read-only, but I was still able to modify the field in the web client. Could it be that this is the correct way to go, but I didn't post my changes properly? After making the change to read-only, I redeployed the portal. Am I missing a step maybe? Thanks.

Did you "re-build" the portal before deployment?

Are you on SP1? Im hoping its fixed in this, but in Gold the lookup control is bugged and the readonly property doesnt work...I believe you can set it in code, but it just removes the magnifying glass - you can still type in the text box. Again hoping SP1 resolves this as well..

I am on SP1, and it may still be buggy. When I set the ReadOnly property and redeployed I got a NULL reference error. I ended up solving the problem by adding a business rule method that gets called via the LoadAction property on the form.
