Biting the bullet and getting ready...

Ok, I have managed to resist moving to the web client for some time now. In the next version the entire application will be moving to the unified development application so, I guess it is time to start learning some web based skill set. I have been doing most of my development in VB.Net and the standard Architech for some time.
The question I would like to see discussed... If you were to learn a web based development language what would it be.. ASP, XML.. etc..
Thanks for the help |

Ideally you need to know ASP.NET and C# A good way to get started is visit http://asp.net as there are lots of videos and examples. Another site is http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/ which is a subscription based services which gives you access to hundreds of videos from the basic principles to the advanced. Highly recommend the lifetime membership for this as its only $140.
best of luck -- DC

Yep, learn Javascript - it's a bigger pain than C#, in my opinion, but it is a vital part of the AJAX involved in the web client (Asynchronous JAVASCRIPT an XML) |

If you are going to use JavaScript get hold of either the full paid for version of VisualStudio 2008 or the free Visual Web Developer 2008 (again via http://asp.net), as that has excellent IntelliSense and debugging. |
