on a custom form I have 2 checkboxes, when either one of them is checked and I try to save I get the following error:
"The statement has been terminated. : String or binary data would be truncated."
Then when I try to close the Add/Edit screen after receiving this error I get this:
'StringConverter' is unable to convert 'System.String' to 'System.Boolean
Do I need to add some code behind to the checkboxes or what could be causing this error?

The problem is that when you added your fields to the entity that your booleans got brought in as string properties, not booleans. Open the entity and locate your boolean fields (that you have your checkboxes bound to) and then change their types from String to Boolean. Then rebuild and deploy and all will work.
