I am new to developing for saleslogix web. But I need to make some real basic changes to the lead capture page. However I can't find where I edit it in the application architect. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The LeadCapture is constructed quite a bit differently than the rest of the SLX web stuff. It is a standard ASP.NET page named LeadCapture.aspx (and the corresponding code-behind file LeadCapture.aspx.cs). These are located in the Support Files section of the Lead Capture portal.

Hi,

I got the Lead Capture portal working on a demo system, and I was surprised to see my contact & account saved in the regular account & contact tables rather than the lead table (which I imagine a lot of companies would want to do if this form were exposed on their public web site).

Would it take extensive C# recoding to make this save to the lead table instead?

The "lead capture" has always been tied to Contact/Account. It existed before there ever was a leads table. When the new web was designed/built the functional requirement was to duplicate functionality.

You really want data from a website to go DIRECTLY into your SalesLogix database.. then you will have to build a new page to tie it to the LEADS entity/table.

My opinion.. the idea of a direct tie to my SalesLogix database from a page that requires NO authentication and allows anyone on the planet to put data in my system.. NEVER.. and we tell all of our clients the same.. major security issue. This is one part of the web product Sage SalesLogix should kill..

We have designed asp/aspx pages that send formatted emails that are picked up by a TaskCentre workflow. TaskCentre than goes thru a series of steps to make sure it's not seeing "junk".. , etc.. and if it's really a new hit.. creates a real Lead record, creates lead history, etc...

If interested, contact me..
