SLX Mobile Newbie question
Posted: 09 Apr 08 1:50 PM
I am suddenly tasked with quoting for SLX Mobile, and the client wants different picklists for a different product type (selected from a different picklist). How much scripting is possible in SLX mobile. Is this doable? I would guess yes, but thought I'd ask anyway.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

What you describe is doable in the mobile product.

Hey Bob,
BlackBerry, Pocket PC or Smart Phone. Specifically where do you want this picklist to operate. I assume on the product detail form. Their are form level events that you can 'hook' into to check values of the bound business entity and then change the PicklistName property on the specific control. Note that BlackBerry is java development and PPC and SP is VB.net so when quoting ensure that you are padding accordingly.
Items to accomplish what you want to do;
1. Import all picklist header items into the Moble AA
2. Update the Client System to ensure that all of the Picklists are synced out
3. Go to the detail form for products
4. In the load event look for the product details that identify your product type picklist
5. Assign the control property PicklistName
Kind regards,
Mark

Also ensure that you have a signing key from RIM. To have your customizations work on the actual device you will need to sign the COD files at the end of the compile/deploy.
