Can't connect to SLX Web Client after a few days
Posted: 15 Apr 08 3:34 PM
I'm having an issue where after a few days of running (and working perfectly), we cannot connect to the SLX Web Client app. It says, "Web site found. Waiting for reply..." and just hangs there.
Resetting IIS gets the site back in working order, and it will work for 4-8 days before hanging again. I can't detect any obvious cause to this issue. Sometimes it happens close to when I deploy a change, sometimes it happens out of the blue.
Part of the problem is that I don't have access to IIS, and so can't debug it from that end. Have any of you seen anything like this, or have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Does anything show in the event logs when this happens?
I would probably focus on the Application Pool. Make sure it doesn't share with any other web app on the server.

I have a client with this issue. There are no errors being reported in the event logs and executing IISReset allows the site to function for a while. I seem to recall that there was a registry hack to prevent the SLXSystem from timing out and unloading itself. For the life of me, I can't remember what the keys were. I suspect that this is where the problem is. But hey, I've been wrong before.

As Steve says, there are no errors in the log.

Steve or Rohan can either of you call into support and report this issue... There have been a few others and since it is so intermintent it's hard to resolve.
Thanks

Well, I tried. It's too much work to deal with your support, especially for an issue which I can resolve with an IISReset.

Well, We went live with a 7.2.2 website last week and I had this happen for the first time today. We've been making changes along the way so maybe the intermittent IIS resets kept it from happening sooner. Has anyone made progress finding some of the causes of this?
