Adding a User control to Account Detail
Posted: 30 May 08 12:20 PM
V7.2.2 ...
Scenario: Customer has an "inside sales" person also listed on the account. Extention table (C_ACC_EXT) was created in DB Manager, everything functions properly in LAN client. In the web client, I created the entity, set it as an extension of the account table and all seems to be good there. Added a USER control (just like the Account Manager control) to the Account Details page.
Problem: It looks up the users and displays the result great in the page. When you attempt to save, it is saving the text value of the user's name instead of the ID. The mapped property is on the LookupResultValue for the control. If viewing a record in the Web client set by the LAN client, it displays properly. If you attempt to change it, it crashes, saying it can't save because it can't truncate the value of the name. I checked all settings and they match that of the Account Manager control (except the specific DB field mapped).
Has anyone else come across this? What is the work around?
Thanks.

Does your extension table (C_ACC_EXT) have the correct relationship to the User entity from the field you want to save the UserId into?
Thats the only thing I can think of being an issue - Im sure this control has changed in 7.2.2 as it used to be a bit more complicated...

What is the mapped property of the lookupresultvalue? I believe it should be the relationship property from the field you want to save into to the User entity...
