Filter Lookup on field not in layout

I want the product lookup on the AddEditPortalTicketProduct QForm to display only Description, but filter on Family. When Family is in the lookup layout the filter is fine. When I remove Family from the layout, it disappears from the Lookup by dropdown and the lookup complains: The text, ntext, and image data types cannot be compared or sorted, except when using IS NULL or LIKE operator.
Is there a way around this using the properties in the AA? Can I hide the family field in the layout so it is still available in the filter? Thanks |
