Problem creating a new page

I am trying to create a new page in AA which will display a custom "Dashboard" style page of reports. My "dashboard.aspx.cs" file contains the correct code to link to the "dashboard.ascx" file in the Smartparts folder

{
Control Dashboard = null;
try
{
Dashboard = LoadControl("~/SmartParts/Account/Dashboard.ascx");
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
Dashboard = new LiteralControl(ex.Message);
}
Dashboard.ID = "Dashboard";
this.PageWorkItem.Workspaces["MainContent"].Show(Dashboard, new SmartPartInfo(GetResource("Dashboard.Title"), GetResource("Dashboard.Description")));
}
After building and deploying, when viewing the page in the Web Client, the page is blank.
Any ideas on what I am missing?
