Correcting the extension table relationship mistake....

A mistake I've seen described more than once here and in the BP forums is someone creating an extension entity, then creating the relationship as 1:M or M:1 because 1:1 isn't available, when what they should have done is check "Is Extension" and set the parent table on the Entity's Entity tab.
The advice I've read is to delete everything (the relationship, the quickform and the entity?) and start over, this time setting the entity as an extension.
Well, I was't looking forward to recreating my whole quickform, so I went ahead and checked "Is Extension," set the table to Account, deleted the 1:M relationship, rebuilt & redeployed. Of course then the form did not display any data.
The next thing I tried was to open the form, and reset the data bindings. On each control I removed the mapping, reset the mapping, then saved it. Now the data is back on display.
Just thought I'd share, in case anyone is bothered by a 1:M relationship they have that should be an extension.

Dan,
I have this problem, also, where no data shows up. I have a tab form that has several bound columns, one of which is supposed to disply a caolumn from the extension table. IN the column editor, the properties for that tabel do not appear. INstead the table name appears just as it did when I ahd a relationship in place. So I picked the table name, and added the .Status to the end to supposedly get the information from the Status column in the extension table.
Again, no data displays. So when you talk about resetting the mappings, please explain what you mean. Are you talking about resetting hte datafields on all the columns on the form or something else?
I only dabble in SLX programming enough to make our plugin software work, so I'm not really knowledgable on all the facets of SLX programming.
Thanks!
Bruce
