Feasability question with Web 7.2 for phones (Not using Mobile)Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I have a strange request, so don’t kill the messenger…

We already have the Web 7.2 and Mobile up and going for our client. The problem is with the amount of data that is getting sync’d to the phones. The other problem is security with what happens if the phone is lost or stolen.

So… with that being said they requested I come up with a way to make the Web 7.2 play nicely on a web phone (not using mobile). So here are few of my thoughts I would like to bounce around:
1) Have a check box on the login that manually updates their role so when they login they see a different set of pages. I haven’t used roles yet so I am not sure of the feasibility of this. These other screens would obviously have limited fields and functionality.
2) Same check-box on logon but this time re-direct them to a totally different site. This new web site would not be affiliated with the existing Slx 7.2 web site. I would just create some simple forms to allow them to lookup account\contacts and maybe addresses.

So in your proffesional opinion what would be the best way to accomplish this?
