7.2.2 Dates Displaying Incorrectly in gridYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

I have a one to many grid off Opportunity that among other things stores a date value. When I select a date before 27th October, the date shown in the grid takes a day off. This is because Daylight Savings time kicks in on the 27th October and the value that is stored in the database goes back to being the "correct" one - not at 23:00:00 the day before.

E.g. Set the date to 25th Oct on the form, click save. The grid shows the date as being 24th Oct. If I edit the record, the date shows as 25th on the form. If I set the date after the 27th Oct it saves and displays correctly.

When viewing the record through Administrator (Execute SQL) it is shown as the 23rd Oct (correct). When viewed through the SQL Server it is shown as 22nd Oct at 11pm. This is what I would expect also. What I wouldnt expect is SLX to show the date as the 22nd in the grid. Has anybody else had this before? Its like the property collection is not really using the provider....but it is is - I am using the Entity model, I am not doing a direct sql connection.

Thanks,

Nick

Fixed. It appears that if you use a normal bound field to show the date, it gives the date straight out the database (which is weird because the provider gives the correct date).

The solution? Always use a DatePicker type column in your grid to display the date.

Happy days.

I ran into this same thing last week as well. Another gotcha is that you want to make sure that the 'timeless' property is set to False for the date field, or you will only get the date portion of the filed which may show the incorrect data depending on your time zone.
