Setting up DEV environment for multiple SLX databases
Posted: 28 Jan 09 11:09 AM
Hi,
We have SLX 7.2.1 LAN version and now moving towards implementing web version. We have 2 divisions using their own licenses and are on two different servers. Each has their own customizations and we have only one DEV machine that connects to either of these databases. This was fine with LAN version.

I have couple of questions with moving to web version and setting up DEV environments.
1. How do we setup same DEV machine to be used for customizing for both databases without affecting each others customizations?
2. We have multiple developers accessing the databases. What is the best setup so that each others work is not affected? Use same DEV box? use local machines?
3. Is it better if we use VSS and local copies of files?
4. I read on Application Architect help VFS can be used to collaboratively work with multiple users without affecting each others work. How do we set this up? Can this be extended to work with different databases?

Advance thanks for suggestions...

Regards,
San
