I am not able to export an group to an excel from Account List View. Getting the error "ActiveX component can't create object Excel.Application". Any ideas?

That is a security problem.

Run the site under Trusted Sites.

To expand on this, IE default settings won't allow you to instantiate ActiveX controls unless on the Trusted Sites.
Rather than changing the Permissions on the Internet zone, it is easier to setup the CRM site to run as Trusted.
