Has anyone had a go at sequencing SLX for softgrid (App-V)?

We've done so for SLX 7.02 on App-V 4.5, and are having trouble with the drag-drop functionality within SLX.

Was hoping that there was someone else as crazy as me out there who could offer some advice.

I have not, but I would love to hear more about your experiences with it. I've been wanting to try it.

I haven't come across this product before. Is this something akin to the Citrix application publishing?

Kind of - but quite different too !

http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/softgrid/default.mspx

It's fairly interesting technology - but would imagine very error prone !!

It's not been _too_ painful.

We had some fun getting the outlook integration working, ended up having to have a script run when slx is first launched generating a new outlook profile for slx using a prf template based on %username% (thank god our usernames are the same as our exchange aliases!). Outlook and SLX didnt seem to want to share profiles.

The only major outstanding issue is getting drag and drop working from outlook to slx, and explorer to slx. I'm not sure it's a limit within softgrid as we're running a sequenced version of Office, and i can drag emails from outlook onto my desktop quite happily. Procmon and slx profiler report zero activity when i try dragging something into slx. The mouse icon changes to indicate things can be dropped into the window, but thats the extent of it.

Has anyone had any issues with Citrix's application publishing and drag/drop?

Any ideas on the best plugins/scripts to start burying my head into?

We'll probably scrap it if we cant get this working, I'm struggling to create our internal support tickets without the functionality (i'm using the "softgridded" version full time at the mo), so I doubt I'll be able to sell it to the rest of the company.

Thanks

Greg

Doh!

Forgot to allow local interaction for the SLX package! I'd done so for Outlook, which is why that worked!

I can drag/drop now

Unfortunately it looks like enabling local interaction has broken the outlook integration

Will keep this thread updated.
